How much is the retainer / deposit for a wedding? –
All packages can be booked for a retainer deposit of £75. This is non-refundable and saves the date. Should you cancel, I use your retainer to re-advertise the date.
When is my wedding balance to be paid? –
You can pay your balance at any time (including with the retainer if you wish), however the balance must be cleared at least seven days before the wedding itself unless other arrangements have been made.
Can I print my own photographs from the wedding USB stick? –
Yes you can, when your package includes printing permissions. Some retailers require a written confirmation that you are allowed to print images and a document will be included on your USB stick for you to show a retailer or print off.
Do you provide RAW files or JPEGs? –
I work with RAW files when I take and edit photographs. These are then converted into high quality JPEGs for wedding USB sticks and to view in your gallery. I do not provide any RAW images to clients under any circumstances.
Why do you not provide RAW files? –
I see my photography as a work of art. RAW files are like negatives. They're un-edited and unfinished images which I simply do not release to my clients. For me, this would be comparable to an artist handing over an unfinished painting or an author handing over the rough drafts to a novel before they are complete.
Is my gallery private? –
Yes. Your wedding or portrait gallery will remain private and password protected unless you request to make it public. You can share your gallery password with friends / family if you wish to do so as some family members may wish to purchase images for themselves. I may pick a few of your photographs to display in one of my yearly sample galleries, however.
How long will it take for wedding photographs to be edited? –
It depends on the time of year. In the Winter months, edits usually take around 3-4 weeks to be fully edited and uploaded to your gallery. In the Summer months (wedding season) it may take from 4-6 weeks. Two or three samples from your wedding are usually emailed to you and uploaded to my Facebook page whilst you await the full gallery. Please do keep the watermark on these samples.
How do you edit the photographs? –
I use up-to-date software including Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I colour-correct images and sharpen.
Are you insured / registered and do you hold any qualifications? –
Yes. I hold Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and equipment insurance. I am also registered with HM Revenue & Customs and I am member of the Guild of Photographers. I hold a diploma from The National Photographic Society and studied with The Photography Institute.
What awards have you won? –
Wedding Industry Experts Awards 2014 – Most Popular New Photographer – Basingstoke & Hampshire. Finalist - Hampshire Wedding Supplier Awards 2016.
Have you been published? –
Yes. My photographs have appeared in various local publications such as the Reading Football Club Programme, The Loddon Link Magazine, Basingstoke Gazette (Photo of the Week) and The Basingstoke Central.
