On 30th September 2017, myself and my husband (who was assisting me for this wedding) drove down to Worthing for Phil and Leigh-ann's big day. My husband knew Phil through their mutual love of motorcycles and vlogging on YouTube. I arrived for bridal prep at a family home and then, when the bridal party were ready, we headed off to The Dome Cinema in Worthing. Not before checking out some amazing wedding shoes though (courtesy of Irregular Choice!).
Now, when you arrive at this fantastically quirky venue, it's a fully functioning cinema and smells entirely like popcorn. What a treat for the nostrils!! The Dome Cinema is right across the road from the beach so it's in a prime location for amazing views from the ceremony room, which happens to be at the dome at the top of the building. It's also easy enough to pop over to the beach for some lovely portraits as well.
Phil awaited his bride upstairs in the dome and Leigh-ann's father walked her up the stairs then down the aisle. Leigh-ann wore a dress purchased from St. Barnabas in Worthing and carried hand-made paper flowers. Phil's suit was by Greys Suit Hire.
The ceremony was very sweet and the large windows made for a bright and beautifully lit room with amazing views throughout. When it came to the kiss, however, Phil is slightly shorter than Leigh-ann so his best man surprised him with a Yellow Pages to stand on. Pure comedy! My husband was shooting from the rear of the aisle so if you look carefully at the black and white picture of the kiss below, you'll see the Yellow Pages under Phil's feet!
After the ceremony we took some group photographs on the balcony before heading over to the beach with the new Mr & Mrs for some portraits. We had lovely skies and reasonably calm seas so we managed to capture some lovely images with constrasting colours.
The wedding breakfast room was decorated with lots of lovely little knitted goodies and hand-made hearts hung from the chairs. Everything was coordinated so well - I especially loved the little woolly fish in the jars!
After the meal (which tasted amazing!) we photographed the speeches, gift-giving and cake cutting before allowing the newlyweds to enjoy the rest of the evening together with their guests. The amazing cake was created by Andrea Green & Tina Bedford.
Mr & Mrs Gardner, thank you for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed photographing your big day. All the best to you both.
