So, here I am again at the fantastic Hampshire Court Hotel! I'm a preferred photographer for this venue and love it to bits. Staff are helpful and attentive, food is excellent, drinks are well priced and it's in a great location between Chineham and Lychpit. There's a large courtyard area which has a shelter, so it's perfect even in British summertime when it does tend to rain! The courtyard is usually well lit at night time providing an excellent backdrop for photographs regardless of the conditions.
I arrived in good time before the ceremony. After a brief chat with the couple's videographer, I met the groom, Tom and his groomsmen and snapped a few photographs of the guests arriving and being seated. Hannah was getting ready within the venue so shortly before the ceremony she appeared from the lift looking absolutely stunning before heading off to speak with the registrars whilst her bridesmaids waited.
The ceremony was lovely and there were two readings before and after the vows and ring exchange. The registrars who attend Hampshire Court are usually those from Basingstoke Register Office so I know them all well now!
After the ceremony and welcome drinks, we conducted the group portraits and newlywed portraits in the courtyard area. I usually try to capture a large group shot from the upper floor of the hotel - this way guests can't hide behind someone else as well, sneaky! A magician entertained guests prior to the wedding breakfast where the beautifully decorated room was revealed to all guests along with the amazing cake. The groom is a Formula 1 fan, can you tell?
Some emotional and hilarious speeches followed along with the cutting of the cake, once the room was turned around by Hampshire Court staff, and then everyone danced the night away on a chequerboard dance floor, after Mr & Mrs Monger had their first dance. It was a wonderful day and I enjoyed capturing every moment for the couple. Congratulations again!
